This was Liverpool at their ruthless best. Eight shots on target, seven goals. Crystal Palace aren’t an easy team to play. They’re a stubborn bunch under Roy Hodgson.
But Liverpool wiped the floor with them — despite their injuries, despite Mohamed Salah starting on the bench, despite the fact it kicked off at Jurgen Klopp’s least favourite time of 12.30pm.

In Saturday’s newspaper, I explained that I was sticking with my pre-season prediction of Manchester City for the title. It was a very big win for City at Southampton, and Liverpool must go there themselves on January 4.
But Klopp’s side played like champions in waiting on Saturday.
