Chris Evans and The Rock’s ‘Red One’—All We Know About Christmas Movie

Chris Evans and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson may just be the acting duo movie lovers didn’t know they needed.
The pair have teamed up with Jumanji director Jake Kasdan for Red One. In a move fans may not have expected from the stars, Red One is an action-adventure comedy and also a Christmas movie.
The movie was conceived by Fast & Furious writer and producer Chris Morgan and is based on an original story by Seven Bucks’ President of Production Hiram Garcia.

When Will Red One Be Available To Watch?
Unfortunately, there will be a bit of a wait before Red One hits cinemas worldwide.
The movie is scheduled for release in the 2023 holiday season, which could mean any date between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
As Red One is a Christmas movie, audiences should be prepared for Red One to drop around December 2023.
Red One will also be available to watch via Amazon Prime Video at a later date, giving families the perfect chance to cozy up at home and get into the festive spirit.

Who Will Star in Red One?
Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans lead the cast of Red One as Callum Drift and Jack O’Malley, respectively.
Johnson’s credits include Jumanji: The Next Level, Shazam!, Red Notice, and Black Adam.
Evans is best known for his role as Steve Rogers in the Marvel films Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel, and Avengers: Endgame.
He is also known for starring in The Gray Man, Don’t Look Up, and Defending Jacob.
Multi-award-winning actor J.K. Simmons will take on the role of Santa Claus and Bonnie Hunt will star as Mrs. Claus.
Simmons’ well-known credits include Being the Ricardos, Whiplash, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Bonnie Hunt is best known for creating, writing, and starring in CBS’s The Building, earning her Golden Globe, Primetime Emmy Awards, and Daytime Emmy Awards nominations.
Also starring in currently undisclosed roles are The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka, Big Mouth’s Nick Kroll, Elementary’s Lucy Liu, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju.
What Is Red One About?
At the moment, not much is known about the plot of Red One. However, in a statement to The Wrap, producer Hiram Garcia teased Red One as an “epic, edge-of-your-seat, action-adventure that takes beloved holiday mythology and turns it on its head.”
Filming is currently underway in Atlanta and fans have been granted a first look at Johnson and Evans in Red One.
Johnson shared a variety of images of himself and Evans behind the scenes of Red One.
He captioned the images: “It’s beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAAAS.”
He added: “Officially kicking off production for our CHRISTMAS franchise film titled,
‘RED ONE’ with my guy @chrisevans. Chris and I have been waiting to make a Christmas movie our entire careers and now finally, the trouble begins…. Our director, Jake Kasdan has been in inspired form to deliver a very special, one of a kind CHRISTMAS franchise for you and your families around the world to enjoy.”
Evans shared the same photo on his Instagram account, introducing his and Johnson’s characters to the world.
He wrote: “Callum Drift and Jack O’Malley
We’re already having WAY too much fun on this one.
(I can’t believe I’m finally doing a Christmas movie!)”
Johnson also tweeted to his 16.7 million followers that Christmas “comes early” as production had begun on Red One.
He joked: “Oh hey it’s @ChrisEvans and the fella famous for wearing a fanny pack.
Christmas comes early as we kick off production for our Christmas franchise, “RED ONE”
Evans retweeted Johnson’s post, adding a variety of Christmas-themed emojis and joking: “you’re the best thing that ever happened to fanny packs.”
Red One is coming to Amazon Prime Video in 2023.
