HAVE A GREAT DAY. DAVE: IT LOOKS PRETTY GOOD FOR TODAY. A COLD START THIS MORNING. 17 AT BOONE. 25 IN THE TRIAD. SOME AREAS IN THE LOW 20’S AND TEENS OVER THE NORTH CAROLINA/VIRGINIA BORDER. 30 IN CHARLOTTE AND EVEN CALLED ALONG THE BEACHES. WE HAVE NEW ADVISORIES WHICH HAVE BEEN EXTENDED AND CREATED THIS MORNING. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR LATER TONIGHT OVERNIGHT AND THROUGH THE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY TOMORROW AT LEAST FOR THE TRIAD AND POINTS SOUTH. THAT IS A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY. THIS PEAK COLOR ALONG THE NORTH CAROLINA VIRGINI BORDER, BACK INTO THE MOUNTAINS, A WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT WHERE THEY COULD SEE MORE IN THE WAY OF SIGNIFICANT ICING AND THE SNOW OVER THE FOOTHILLS AND MOUNTAINS. TODAY LOOKS OK. INCREASING CLOUDINESS THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. LOW TO MID 40’S. IN THE MOUNTAINS, TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 30’S AS SKIES BECOME MOSTLY CLOUDY. NOW, HIGH PRESSURE IN CONTROL OF THE WEATHER, SO YOU WILL SEE SUN THIS MORNING, BUT MOISTURE IS BACK TO THE WEST. WE WIL START TO BUILD IN ONE OF THOSE WEDGE SITUATIONS WHERE WE GET THE RAIN ACROSS THE AREA AND IT KEEPS US COLD THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW. INTO THE 30’S, PROBABLY MID-30’S FOR HIGHS. TONIGHT IS WHEN WE SEE SOME OF THE PRECIPITATION DEVELOP. WE WILL SEE THE WINTRY MIX OVERNIGHT TONIGHT WITH LOWES KIND OF CRITICAL AROUND 31 FOR LOW TONIGHT. UP HER 20’S IN THE FOOTHILLS. A GOOD CHANCE FOR SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS. NOTICE HOW THE CLOUDS COME INTO PLAY BY THIS AFTERNOON AROUND 3:00-4:00. WE SEE A LITTLE PRECIPITATION STARTING TO COME ON IN. IT IS MORE SO OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AND IN THROUGH EARLY TOMORROW MORNING WHERE WE SEE SOME OF THIS PRECIPITATION BECOME MORE PROMINENT. THE PEAK WOULD INDICATE MORE IN THE WAY OF FREEZING RAIN. MORE IN THE WAY OF SLEET. NOTICE THE SNOW OVER TO THE NORTH AND WEST. INTO THE FOOTHILLS, THE MOUNTAINS, OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW, WE WOULD SEE RAIN AROUND. WITH TEMPERATURES AROUND THE FREEZING MARK, IT LANDS ON SURFACES THAT ARE COLD AT OR BELOW THE FREEZING MARK TO CREATE THE FREEZING RAIN SCENARIO. THAT COULD CONTINUE THROUGH THE FIRST PART OF TOMORROW MORNING. WE COULD SEE ICE ACROSS THE AREA OVER SERVICES AND ROADWAYS AS WE GO THROUGH THE FIRST PART OF THE DAY SUNDAY. IT LOOKS TO WAYNE AND DROP OFF IN THE PRECIPITATION DEPARTMENT BY TOMORROW AFTERNOON. IT IS OCCASIONALLY AROUND WITH TEMPERATURES THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW. INTO THE LOW TO MID-30’S. NOTICE HOW WE GET WAVES OF PRECIPITATION IN AND OUT, EVEN INTO THE DAY LATE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO THE DAY MONDAY WITH TEMPERATURES COLD. THE WEDGE KINDA SETS UP. IT KEEPS US COLD ON INTO THE DAY MONDAY. LITTLE PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE AREA INTO MONDAY AFTERNOON. THAT’S BEFORE IT STARTS TO BREAK A MONDAY NIGHT INTO THE DAY TUESDAY. WINTRY MIX FORECAST LOOKS LIKE THIS FOR TONIGHT AND THROUGH PART OF THE DAY TOMORROW. FOR THE TRIAD AND POINTS SOUTH, THEM FURTHER SOUTH YOU GO, LIKE GLAZING MAY BE UPWARDS OF .2 OF AN INCH AND MAYBE ICING IN SOME AREAS. BETTER CHANCES BACKUP FOR GLAZING AND EVEN LIGHT SNOW OVER THE NORTH CAROLINA/VIRGINIA BORDER. THAT ARE SNOW CHANCES OVER THE MOUNTAINS. ANYWHERE FROM THREE TO SIX INCHES OVER THE COURSE OF THE NEXT 36 TO 48 HOURS OVER THE MOUNTAINS. YOU CAN SEE SNOWFALL TOTALS ANYWHERE FROM LIGHT AMOUNTS ALONG THE NORTH CAROLINA/VIRGINIA BORDER, BUT BETTER TO THE WEST. WE WILL SEE MORE CUMULATI SNOW. THIS IS A POSSIBLE FREEZING RAIN TOTALS THAT HAVE BEE UPDATED BY THIS MODEL THAT SHOWS WE COU SEE SIGNIFICANT FREEZING RAIN, RAIN AND THEN FREEZING ON SERVICES AND ROADWAYS, THAT COULD BE A PROBLEM INTO TOMORROW MORNING AND THREW A GOOD PORTION OF THE DAY TOMORROW TOO. IN THE PINK AREA, TWO TO SIX INCHES OF SNOWFALL TOTALS POSSIBLE WITH ICE ACCUMULATING OVER SOME OF THIS ADVISORY AREA POSSIBLY. WE COULD SEE A LIGHT GLAZING HERE WITH THE PURPLE. THE MIXED PRECIPITATION, ALL OF THE STUFF YOU DON’T LIKE ACROSS THE AREA, TOMORROW IS NOT LOOKING THAT GREAT. NOTICE POSSIBLE SNOWFALL TOTALS THROUGH MOND MORNING, IN EXCESS OF FOUR TO SEVEN INCHES IN SOME SPOTS, ESPECIALLY ON WESTERN FACING SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS. INTO TONIGHT, ALL THAT WILL START. BY WEDNESDAY, THINGS CLEAR OUT. FLURRIES AND SNOW SHOWERS BACK OVER THE MOUNTAINS, BUT FOR US TODAY, NOT BAD. IF YOU ARE DOING ANYTHING OUTSIDE, TODAY WOULD BE THE DAY. TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW TO MID 40’S. TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW NORMAL. CLOUDS COME INTO PLAY LATER ON THIS AFTERNOON. YOU SHOULD SEE PRECIPITATION STARTS THIS EVENING. ESPECIALLY OVER THE MOUNTAINS. THE SEVEN-DAY FORECAST SHOWS THIS. TODAY IS OK AND TOMORR HOLD — TOMORROW TEMPERATURES HOLD IN THE 30’S. MAINLY FREEZING RAIN TO THE DAY TOMORROW THE WAY IT LOOKS RIGHT NOW, CARRYING INTO EARLY MONDAY MORNING. WE SHOULD DRY OUT INTO TUESDAY. TH
