Chiefs vs. Dolphins score: Live updates, NFL playoff scores, analysis, AFC playoffs wild card game highlights

Chiefs #Chiefs

At halftime of their wild card game, the Kansas City Chiefs lead the Miami Dolphins by a score of 16-7, and are one step closer to advancing to the next round.

Kansas City started fast by driving for a touchdown on the game’s opening possession. Patrick Mahomes marched the team down the field with passes to Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice, who made the end-zone trip from 11 yards out on a crossing route. Tua Tagovailoa was intercepted late in the first quarter after overshooting on a late throw over the middle, and the Chiefs had a chance to make it a two-score game.

Kansas City did just that and extended its lead to 10 with a field goal on a red-zone drive that was stalled out by a Kelce drop and a poor snap. The Dolphins then quickly responded with a two-play, 62-yard touchdown drive on which former Chiefs star Tyreek Hill accounted for both plays — the latter of which was a 53-yard score on a deep ball down the right sideline.

The Chiefs were held to another field goal on their next red-zone trip after Rice’s second score of the game was taken off the board by a block in the back.

Kansas City had to convert on third-and-11 on its final drive of the half, and a 39-yard catch-and-run for Rice got the Chiefs into range for another score. But that drive, too, stalled out in the red zone, and Kansas City settled for a third field goal.

Can the Chiefs hang onto their lead, or will the Dolphins stage a comeback? Keep it locked to our live blog throughout the rest of the evening as we update you with stats, scores, and highlights.
