Chelsea may have made another Mohamed Salah and Kevin de Bruyne mistake
De Bruyne #DeBruyne
“Musiala makes the difference and is scoring more goals. If someone wanted to buy him now, the transfer fee would be close to €150m [£126m]. That’s not an issue anyway because he’s certainly not for sale.”
Bayern were fortunate to beat Barcelona, with their former striker Robert Lewandowski squandering several chances for the Liga outfit. The Germans eventually took the lead through Lucas Hernandez before the versatile attacking midfielder Musiala set up Sane.
Musiala – who has 15 Germany caps despite playing 21 times for various England age groups – said afterwards: “We were hungry to win. Sometimes it takes a corner goal to break the pressure. Then we had the momentum on our side and made it 2-0. But it was a super opponent, they didn’t make it easy for us.
“It’s a special match. Everyone wants to win, you could feel that even among the fans. Everyone was hungry. Every player dreams of games like this. The fans were amazing and the game was exciting throughout.”
Musiala will feel he made the right choice in leaving for Bayern aged 16. He will frequently feature in similar huge European fixtures in future.
