Check out the celebrations planned for NMSU’s 2023 Homecoming game day

New Mexico State Aggies are preparing to face the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders this weekend in the 2023 homecoming game. Check out the events fans can participate in leading up to the game.

Kickoff is at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Aggie Memorial Stadium. Gates open at 3 p.m. A firework display will follow the game.

Fans are also invited to join the Aggie Walk at 1:20 p.m. to cheer on the team while they walk to the stadium.

NMSU Homecoming Parade

The annual NMSU Homecoming Parade will start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pan Am. Floats, marching bands and other participants will travel west on University Avenue.

Members of the public are welcome to set up chairs along University Avenue to view the festivities. People should be aware that parts of University Avenue will be blocked off Saturday morning to allow for the parade route.

Tailgating and AG Day

Tailgating lots on the NMSU campus open at 9 a.m. Saturday. Lots are located on the west side of the Pan American Center.

From 1 to 4 p.m., NMSU will also be celebrating the 10th annual AG Day at the Pan Am south lot. The event is a celebration of New Mexico agriculture and a way to educate people about what the state has to offer. The event is free and open to the public.

According to organizers, dozens of educational and informational booths will be set up, as well as live music, games, prizes, a petting zoo with farm animals and samples of state agricultural products.

The NMSU Alumni Association is also hosting an Alumni & Friends tailgate beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday in the lot between the Pan Am and Aggie Memorial, on the corner of Arrowhead Drive and Stewart Street.

People are invited to enjoy a meal from Rudy’s Bar-B-Q and drinks from the cash bar by Icebox Brewing. Organizers noted that the PRIDE of New Mexico Marching Band, NMSU Cheer and Pistol Pete himself will make an appearance ahead of the game.

Tickets for the tailgate are $18.88 for adults and $8.88 for children under 12. People can register ahead of time online at nmsufoundation.org.

At 11:30 a.m., NMSU’s gold and silver alumni will be honored during the Aggie Reunion Luncheon. Aggie alumni celebrating their 25 and 50 year anniversaries are invited to join the celebration.People can register online at nmsualumni.org.
