If you’ve left the Christmas food shop to the last minute, the good news is that plenty of supermarkets have slashed the price of their festive vegetables.
Kantar Worldpanel, which tracks sales and prices at supermarket chains, predicts the typical Christmas dinner will cost £31.71 for a family of four. This is against a backdrop of rising supermarket prices, as the cost of living continues to add more pressure on to families.
It means checking prices and getting the best deals possible has never been more important – especially at Christmas. We’ve rounded up the best prices for vegetables at major supermarkets including Tesco, Aldi and Iceland.
But you may be able to beat the prices below in some shops. Tesco and Morrisons are giving away free carrots this Christmas to help shoppers “prepare for Santa and Rudolph” until December 24. In previous years, some supermarkets including Asda have given away other Christmas vegetables for free, or for as little as 5p, on Christmas Eve to get rid of any excess stock.
As for the rest of your shop, always remember to compare prices using Trolley.co.uk. We’ve also listed the cheapest champagne and prosecco deals here.
