Charles Barkley’s ‘billion dollar’ bet with Shaq on the Heat’s play-in game immediately backfired
Heat #Heat
Charles Barkley may have to take out a few loans to pay off his latest bet to NBA on TNT co-host Shaquille O’Neal.
As the two were discussing the play-in matchup to determine the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference between the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat, Barkley was so dismissive of Atlanta’s chances that he said a Heat win was an absolute lock.
A billion dollar lock. Seriously.
And despite Atlanta’s best efforts to blow a 24-point lead, the Hawks just wouldn’t let Miami take control of the game, winning 116-105. Which means Barkley is going to have dig deep into his pockets for running his mouth again.
Shaq wasn’t the only one ready to gloat on the postgame show, either.
The Hawks — and their social media team — kept all the receipts from everyone who counted them out against Miami.
