So many K-Pop superstars also happen to be social media sensations – and the top accounts have millions and millions of followers!

From solo superstars to girl group and boy band members, plenty of South Korean stars have become huge on Instagram. And based on the latest roundup of idol follower counts, we know who the most popular stars are on the social media platform!

Here’s one hint: the top four most-followed individual accounts are all in the same group! That same act just broke some Guinness World Records as well.

Despite the fact that G-Dragon was just named the most followed Korean celebrity by Instagram for the fifth year in a row, the 30-year-old South Korean superstar has officially been overtaken by someone new: EXO member Chanyeol!

The 26-year-old member of the massively popular K-Pop boy band became the most followed Korean celebrity as of Thursday (December 27) in South Korea.

Until this week, G-Dragon had been the most followed Korean celebrity since 2014. Chanyeol now has over 16.16 million followers on Instagram.

In addition to being a member of EXO and sub-unit EXO-K, Chanyeol is also an actor, and has appeared in TV dramas and movies.

Instagram has announced the most popular Korean accounts in the 2018 Instagram Awards as of Thursday (December 20).

The awards included six categories: Most Loved Account, Top 10 Accounts, Account With Most Growth, Top Boy Group, Top Girl Group, and Photo With Most Likes.

BLACKPINK’s “Solo” star Jennie won Most Loved Account of 2018, which was based on views and likes of Stories and posts.

“I’m always thankful that [fans] are interested in my Instagram. Please keep an eye out for my Instagram, as I will be sharing more memories,” she said of the win.

BTS won the Top Boy Group category and BLACKPINK won Top Girl Group.

BTS also won Photo With the Most Likes for their picture at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, and their fandom, the ARMY, won Top Fandom Community.

2017 is winding down, and YouTube is revealing the most-watched videos of the year!

On Thursday (December 13), the video service revealed the Top 10 most watched K-Pop videos outside of Korea. (Last week, they revealed the most popular K-Pop videos watched inside of Korea.)

From BTS to BLACKPINK to EXO, many of the year’s most buzzed-about Korean pop acts made the cut. But in which order – and who ultimately reigned supreme at the top spot for 2017 among international K-Pop video viewers?

Instagram announced the most popular K-Pop Instagram accounts of the year as part of the 2017 Instagram Awards!

The categories include Top 5 Accounts and Most-Loved Account. The photo service also revealed the K-Pop celebrity photo and video with the most love this year.

This year’s most popular Instagrammers include members of EXO, BIGBANG and Girls’ Generation. Can you guess who took the popularity prizes this year?

Chanyeol won for both photo and video with the most likes.

In addition, JBJ‘s Kwon Hyun Bin won the award for Account With the Most Growth in 2017.

EXO are robot-blasting intergalactic superheroes!

The nine member K-Pop troupe just unveiled the music video for “Power,” the title track of The War: The Power of Music, the highly anticipated repackage of their fourth studio album The War, out today (September 5).

The boys of EXO all take turns battling a mechanical bad guy in the highly entertaining and campy, Star Wars-esque video for the LDN Noise-produced track, but it takes the superpower of all nine combined to finally defeat the foe once and for all. They’ve got that power!

The repackage of The War includes new tracks “Power,” “Sweet Lies” and “Boomerang.”
