The Boston Celtics simply couldn’t miss for most of the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets.

They shot 62.1% (18-for-29) from the floor, including 8-for-11 from 3-point range, to outscore the Nets 46-16 in the opening frame. According to Celtics.com’s Taylor Snow, it marked the first time in franchise history that the C’s have outscored their opponent by 30 points in the first quarter.

Previously, their largest first-quarter point differential was 26 against the Charlotte Hornets earlier this season.

The historic effort was led by stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Tatum outscored the Nets on his own with 18 points in the first quarter while Brown chipped in 12.

Boston’s 46 first-quarter points marked its seventh-highest point total it has ever scored in a single quarter, per Celtics.com’s Marc D’Amico.
