Celtics injury report: Malcolm Brogdon out for Monday’s game at Raptors

Malcolm Brogdon is officially out when the Celtics take on the Raptors at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Toronto. Brogdon was originally listed as questionable on the injury report because of a non-COVID illness, and he’ll now sit and miss Monday’s game.

Al Horford, as expected, is also out because it’s the second game of a back-to-back. He hasn’t played in any of those second games all season as the team has been cautious with the big man. Danilo Gallinari and Robert Williams III are also still out with their long-term knee injuries.

Brogdon sitting will likely result in more minutes for Payton Pritchard. The third-year guard has impressed when pushed into action and has quickly become a fan favorite. Expect an uptick in playing time for Derrick White, as well.

The Celtics beat the Nets on Sunday in Brooklyn to open a six-game road trip. The C’s first take on two East opponents in the Nets and Raptors before flying out west to take on the Suns, Warriors, Clippers and Lakers. But it’s a long time away from TD Garden and Boston as the C’s continue to tack on the wins to their league-best record.
