Celtic snapped up Albian Ajeti from West Ham United in August, and it’s fair to say that he has made a great start to life at Parkhead.

The Swiss attacker has hit four goals in his first seven games, becoming a strong source of goals with Odsonne Edouard struggling for fitness.

Ajeti, 23, endured a dismal season at West Ham last term, playing just 12 games for the Hammers and failing to find the net.

He was a star at Basel though, and has immediately started to find his best form for Celtic, and is already a favourite with Bhoys fans.

However, it seems that Ajeti hasn’t quite convinced everybody just yet, with Dixie Deans remaining a little cautious on him.

Deans was a hero for Celtic in the 1970’s, smashing 89 goals in 126 games for the club before leaving for Luton Town in 1976.

Deans has now told The Scottish Sun that many people tell him how great Ajeti is, but he just thinks he is ‘OK’ right now, and doesn’t see a great player in Ajeti.

The Scot added that Ajeti deserves credit for his goals so far, as pressure has been lifted on him, but he feels he hasn’t seen enough to laud the Swiss international just yet.

“People are telling me Ajeti is this and he’s that, that he’s great,” said Deans. “I’ve not seen all of his games, I’ll admit. But what I have seen of him so far I think he’s an OK player. In fairness, Ajeti has been scoring goals and let’s be honest, that’s the bottom line if you’re a Celtic striker. But I’m not seeing a great player at the moment.”

“Ajeti’s not been here for long, though, and you have to give him credit for getting the goals he has early into his time at the club. That takes pressure off him,” he added.
