The Hoops fan proudly wears his club colours to the Wales game
And amongst a hardy band of 3,000 or so Welsh fans was a man proudly displaying CELTIC colours.
Hartson shared a screengrab of the image on Twitter along with the words “Mon the Hoops 🍀🏴”.
The Welshman is part of ITV’s coverage for the big event – along with former Rangers hero Ally McCoist.
Former Ibrox star Aaron Ramsey is part of the Wales group for the World Cup showpiece.
Meanwhile, Rangers and Celtic legends Graeme Souness and Roy Keane didn’t hold back when it came to expressing their disdain and disgust about the World Cup being in Qatar.
Fifa’s decision to award its flagship tournament to the Middle Eastern nation has been dogged by allegations of corruption and the deaths of migrant workers involved in the building of stadiums.
The decision also came under fire because of the treatment of homosexuals in Qatar, where it is illegal to be gay.
Two prominent voices in the game, both of them having captained their countries and played for some of the biggest clubs in Britain, were asked for their opinions about the World Cup being held in Qatar despite the controversy ahead of Argentina vs Saudi Arabia on ITV.
However, during the debate, ex Rangers hero Souness also pointed out that Britain’s own history of colonialism and its exploits in Ireland over the years leave a lot to be desired.
Souness began by saying: “They’ll be praying that the football will make it a great tournament and people won’t be talking about [human rights issues] going forward.
“But I’m afraid, you know, there are so many activists out there that they will forever be talking about Qatar and their human rights record.
“That’s a fact of life. They have to deal with that, and by having a World Cup here, they have a chance to make certain things right, but they are not going to do everything right.”
Ex-Manchester United and Celtic star Keane said: “The World Cup shouldn’t be here, it’s been mentioned about corruption regarding FIFA.
“You’ve got a country here the way they treat migrant workers, gay people and I think it’s great it’s been brought up, they shouldn’t have a World Cup here, they can’t treat people like that.”
