CBS cancels How We Roll sitcom based on Saginaw bowler Tom Smallwood’s life

How We Roll, the CBS comedy based on Saginaw bowler Tom Smallwood’s life, will not return for a second season.

CBS canceled How We Roll, along with Good Sam, Magnum P.I., B Positive and United States of Al.

How We Roll starred comedian Pete Holmes as Smallwood, who lost his job on an assembly line and became a pro bowler, winning two major PBA championships.

The sitcom, produced by Saginaw native Brian d’Arcy James, also starred Katie Lowes as Jen Smallwood and Chi McBride as the owner of Archie’s Lanes.

According to TVLine, How We Roll averaged 4.6 million weekly viewers and a 0.4 demo rating, ranking last of the seven sitcoms aired by CBS.

The series will continue through the end of its first and final season, with the season and series finale on Thursday, May 19.

CBS did renew Bob Hearts Abishola, Ghosts, The Neighborhood and Young Sheldon.
