MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — While Summerfest may be garnering the most attention, there are quite a few family-oriented events are scheduled to take place in the Milwaukee area over the weekend. Joe Krauss from B93.3 FM joined us on Friday, June 23 to discuss a few of them.

The Edelweiss Kiddie Character Cruise will set sail on Sunday, June 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cruise, aboard the Harbor Lady, will feature pirates and mermaids. Participants can take pictures with characters and will be served a hot dog lunch.

Railfest 2023 will take place at the East Troy Railroad Museum on Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival includes model railroad displays, face painting, a ham radio demonstration and free popcorn. The first train departs East Troy at 10 a.m., and the last train leaves at 3 p.m.

The Urban Ecology Center will host Family Friday on June 23, to allow families to search for frogs in the ponds at Riverside Park from 5 – 7 p.m. The event aims to help participants learn about frogs through activity stations.

Additionally, Greek Fest will be held at State Fair Park on June 23 – 25. The event features authentic Greek food, live bands and rides. The event is hosted by the Annual Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
