Casualty – Marty, David and Robyn exits explained
RIP Marty #RIPMarty
Casualty – have Marty and David left the show?< – BBC
Casualty spoilers follow.
Casualty aired a shocking triple exit tonight (March 18) as Robyn Miller, David Hide and Marty Kirkby all left the show.
Robyn succumbed to the injuries she’d suffered in last week’s episode (more on this here) and a grief-stricken David and Marty decided to quit the ED in the aftermath.
While it’s pretty clear that there’s no way back for Robyn (RIP!), what about Marty and David, and even Charlie? We have all the answers below.
Have Marty and David left?
< – BBC
Yes. Digital Spy can confirm that tonight marks the end of the road for nurses Marty and David following their ED walkout.
Marty was the first to confront Jacob earlier in the episode, blaming him for Robyn’s distress when she got in the car after a long shift.
David also realised that he’s not prepared to do work like this anymore; the system is broken. He inspired Marty, and many of the other nurses, to walk out the ED in protest, hoping that if enough of them made a statement, something would have to change.
Resolute, David and Marty were last seen hugging each other goodbye, before leaving Holby ED for the last time.

While Jason Durr had announced his departure as David last year, Shaheen Jafargholi’s own exit will come as a surprise to viewers, given it hadn’t been announced prior to transmission.
The same goes for Amanda Henderson, whose exit as Robyn had been kept under wraps as well.
Jason joined the show as kind-hearted nurse David back in 2016. Since then, he has been involved in some major storylines, from David’s bipolar and subsequent breakdown, to his relationship and marriage to Rosa Cadenas.
More recently, David also took centre stage in a shocking story involving his son Ollie, who was killed after carrying out a devastating school shooting with accomplice Rob.

Jason confirmed that he was leaving Casualty in a post on Instagram last year.
He wrote: “After 6 yrs playing the wonderfully complex #NurseDavidHide @bbccasualtyofficial I’ve hung up my scrubs.I’ve forged firm friendships, learnt to pronounce Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty & had my squeamishness thoroughly challenged! Here’s to new adventures (hopefully with less blood & guts).”

Shaheen, formerly known for playing EastEnders schoolboy Shakil Kazemi, joined the show as Marty in 2018.
His biggest storylines have centred around his fractured relationship with his dad Graham, his friendship with Robyn and his former relationship with co-worker Adi, which saw them decide to explore surrogacy.
What about Charlie?
BBC
He’ll be sticking around. For now, at least. Phew.
While Charlie also considered leaving, he ultimately changed his mind after hearing Robyn’s final words to him in a voicemail.
After walking back into the ED, Charlie made it clear that he was staying, but only out of respect for Robyn – not for Jacob.
Charlie’s future in the show seems safe for now, but the exits may not necessarily be ending there…
Casualty airs these scenes on Saturday, March 18 on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
