Casemiro: Peter Drury’s commentary for Man Utd star’s goal vs Chelsea was epic
Casemiro #Casemiro
Casemiro’s first goal in a Manchester United shirt could not have come at a better time.
The Brazilian midfielder swapped the sunny skies of Madrid for the north of England in the summer transfer window and has taken a while to get up to speed.
But we’re now seeing the very best of Casemiro at United and his dramatic late equaliser against Chelsea on Saturday was quite special.
Erik ten Hag’s side were staring down the barrel of defeat after an 87th minute penalty from Jorginho.
United kept plugging away, though, and eventually found a precious equaliser when Casemiro met Luke Shaw’s cross with a marvellous looping header.
Kepa Arrizabalaga tried his best to stop the ball creeping over the line, but the Chelsea goalkeeper’s efforts were all in vain.

It was quite the sporting moment at Stamford Bridge and one man who’s able to make it even better is none other than Peter Drury.
In recent years, Drury has emerged as arguably football’s best English-speaking commentator and his narration of Casemiro’s goal was the definition of poetry.
Check it out in all of its glory…
Video: Drury’s commentary for Casemiro’s goal
Genius, pure linguistic genius. He never goes over the top by screaming and shouting, instead delivering the perfect words in an equally perfect tone.
Drury said: “One each! Is it?! There insisting it is – and so it is! Casemiro engulfed. Millimeters in a match of margins. He was made to wait. A wait worth so very, very much!”
Needless to say, fans are absolutely loving the great man’s latest snippet of unreal commentary…
Casemiro’s goal keeps United in contention with the top four
Casemiro’s last gasp goal means United remain just one point behind Chelsea in fourth and that is a huge positive for Ten Hag.
Four points from a possible six against the Blues and Tottenham Hotspur in the space four days is also quite the achievement for a team in a transitional period.
Up next for United is a home match in the Europa League against FC Sheriff, before they take on West Ham United at Old Trafford next Sunday.
Will Cristiano Ronaldo be in the squad to take on the Hammers? That remains to be seen, although you certainly wouldn’t bet on it right now…
