A century-old studio of Captain Cook erected in St Kilda in Melbourne has been vandalised in an apparent Australia Day protest. Police allege the statue was sawn off at the ankles around 3:30am on Thursday morning. The statue, first unveiled in 1914, was also spray-painted with the words ‘The colony will fall’.
