After three years of waiting due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this Monday the NFL returned to Mexico with a regular season game. Once again, the Azteca Stadium will host the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers, the same teams that played the first game of its kind outside the United States in 2005.
What did Canelo Alvarez do at the Azteca Stadium?

The event has been long awaited by Mexican fans and therefore has great celebrities, not only related to American soccer, but also to the world of sports. One of them, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, was shown on the screens of the Azteca Stadium, while walking on the field, prior to the start of the game.
The Mexican boxer had the honor of being part of the coin toss and watched the game in a luxurious box along with the Director of the NFL Mexico, Arturo Olivé.
This is not the first time that the best Mexican fighter of today is seen in an event related to the sport of tackling, as on May 8 of last year, the boxer originally from Guadalajara Mexico defeated Billy Joe Saunders at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington Texas.
In fact, on that occasion Canelo drew more people to the stadium than at Super Bowl LVI, with 73,126 attendees.
Did Canelo accompany Grupo Firme to his NFL presentation?
Another reason for the presence of the pugilist from Guadalajara could be the presence of his friend, Eduin Caz, vocalist of Grupo Firme, who participated in the halftime show of the game. However, it was not confirmed that the Mexican boxer visited the Azteca Stadium for this purpose.
However, this event marked the reunion of Canelo and Grupo Firme, after they were involved in a scandal after the Mexican champion, according to reports, ran off the famous band during the celebration of his daughter’s quinceañera party a few weeks ago.
