Canadian Retailer Le Chateau to Liquidate Assets, Wind Down Operations

Specialty retailer Le Chateau Inc., battered by the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, on Friday said it filed for bankruptcy protection with plans to liquidate its assets and wind down its operations.
The Montreal company, which operates 123 stores and employs roughly 1,400 people, said it filed for protection under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, Canada’s version of chapter 11.
