At 101, Hazel McCallion — an icon of Canadian politics — shows no signs of slowing down. Her tenacity earned her the nickname “Hurricane Hazel,” a possible reference to a devastating 1954 storm that left hundreds dead in Haiti, the United States and Canada — including 81 in Toronto.
