New evacuation orders were issued as the McDougall Creek wildfire crested the McDougall Rim on Thursday, August 17, in West Kelowna, British Columbia. Authorities expect the fire, which has grown to 6,800 hectares in size, will be much larger in the morning due to strong winds.
