Butch Renamed Pete Dunne On 1/19 WWE SmackDown

Butch is no more.

On the January 19 episode of WWE SmackDown, Butch and Tyler Bate were set to face Pretty Deadly in a rematch of their clash on the January 5 episode. Before the match, Butch was introduced as Pete Dunne. The video screen and on-screen graphic also displayed his new name, and he wore the same gear he used to.

The change was teased on the January 10 episode of WWE SmackDown. During a vignette, Butch and Tyler Bate got coffee, and Bate told his tag team partner he needed to make a name for himself.

Dunne moved to SmackDown in March 2022, and he was renamed as Butch upon his arrival. He was paired with Ridge Holland and Sheamus as The Brawling Brutes. The group has parted ways in recent weeks, as Sheamus has been out with an injury. Meanwhile, Holland walked out on Butch, and he has since returned to NXT.
