Bunnings shopper’s VERY unusual hack to score reduced plants goes viral

A Bunnings shopper’s surprising trick to scoring cheap plants at the hardware store chain has gone viral.

Sharing on Twitter, the gardening fan said she believed the secret to picking up reduced plants at Bunnings was to shop at specific locations.

The canny shopper suggested that people should head to Bunnings stores in more affluent suburbs if they wanted to pick up a bargain.

“My only gardening advice is to go to rich suburb Bunnings because they will mark down plants with a single crispy leaf,” she wrote.

To prove her point, the shopper shared two photos of four reduced plants – including an in-demand fiddle leaf tree – which were priced between $5 and $10 and appeared to be in great condition.

The idea was hailed as genius by many Bunnings fans.

Added another: “OK I am doing this!”

Wrote one more: “This is such great advice!”

Another Twitter user reminded shoppers of Bunnings Perfect Plant Promise, which guarantees a refund on any plant that dies within a year of of purchase – as long as you keep your receipt.

“Apparently Bunnings gives a 12-month guarantee on its plants,” she said.

“I was behind a woman returning 3 she’d obviously forgotten to water. Full refund.”
