MARCH 13 It’s a Texas Twist as a Cowboys offensive lineman is coming to Buffalo and a Bills QB is going home to Houston.

Dallas guard Connor McGovern is getting a reported three-year, $23 million deal from the Bills.

Meanwhile, Case Keenum is making the move back home to Texas to play Houston after a season here as Josh Allen’s backup.

MARCH 7 MIXON TROUBLE Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is a “person of interest” during an ongoing investigation by Cincinnati-area police of a shooting that sent a youngster to the hospital.

Mixon’s home was swarmed by police officers into the early hours of Tuesday, and the police reportedly searched Mixon’s home until 3:20 a.m.

Mixon’s sister Shalonda has denied the running back’s involvement in the shooting.

But that’s not exactly the position of law enforcement.

“We can confirm that part of the crime scene involves a home connected to Bengals player Joe Mixon,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

One report said youngsters were in the street playing “Nerf Wars” when a person in the neighborhood, using a real gun, shot it and struck one of the young participants.

Mixon’s offseason has been marked by legal trouble as he faced a aggravated menacing charge in February, though that charge was eventually dropped.

MARCH 4 WHY ME? O.J. Simpson: Troll or ignoramus?

Simpson, the all-time great Buffalo Bills running back who is well-known for .. something else .. is trending on social media for his take on the Murdaugh murder trial.

“I don’t know why they think I’m an expert,” Simpson announced on social media. “People keep asking me my opinion of the Alex Murdaugh trial.”

We will leave it alone here without further comment.

FEB 21 RADIO ARREST Former NFL offensive lineman and Indianapolis radio host Joe Staysniak has been arrested, per the Indianapolis Star, and accused of domestic battering, pointing a firearm, intimidation and strangulation.

Staysniak, a host for more than two decades in Indianapolis, played at Ohio State and was a seventh-round pick of the Chargers in 1990 and then played for the Bills in 1991 before moving on to three other teams over a six-year career.

FEB 19 OJ IN THE NEWS Former Buffalo Bills star O.J. Simpson, forever infamously tied to the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, still has a way of getting people’s attention.

He went viral on Super Bowl Sunday as he announced his Kansas City Chiefs fandom and discussed “Black History Month” while also complaining a bit of feelings of “melancholy” over the fact that he never played in a Super Bowl.

Simpson’s tweet went viral, getting more than 1 million views so far on Twitter.

FEB 13 CONRAD DOBLER PASSES Long-time offensive lineman Conrad Dobler, a three-time Pro Bowler well-known as “Football’s Dirtiest Player,” died Monday at the age of 72.

Dobler played 10 seasons in the NFL, the first six with the Cardinals and later finishing his career in 1980 and ’81 with the Bills. He was proud of his tough-guy reputation; the title of his autobiography is “They Call Me Dirty.”

Football, however, took its toll and Dobler, an iron-man player, had been in ill health in recent years.

FEB 10 BILLS LOSE ‘BEST COACH’ Buffalo Bills wide receivers coach Chad Hall is out of contract and be moving to the Jaguars.. … and if you listen to Stefon Diggs, Hall, 36, might be a big loss.

Hall played in the NFL as an undrafted rookie out of Air Force and has now become a valued Sean McDermott aide.

“He does an extremely great job and I never want to lose him,” Diggs has said, labeling him “the best coach on the staff.”

FEB 8 HAMLIN NFL AWARD WINNER

The NFL Players Association recently narrowed to five their finalists for the 2023 NFLPA Alan Page Community Award. … and today during Super Bowl Week in Arizona, Bills safety Damar Hamlin has been named the winner.

The APC Award is billed as “the highest honor that the NFLPA can bestow upon a player.”

Since suffering a life-or-death cardiac arrest during a Jan. 2 game, Hamlin has fought his way back to good health and inspired not just sports fans but people all over the world through his kind words and actions. Among his efforts: His “Chasing M’s Foundation,” a non-profit started in 2020 with a goal of $2,500 for a toy drive, has now raised $9 million for charity.

Congratulations to Damar Hamlin for being a difference-maker … in so many ways.

FEB 7 DAUGHTER OF KIM PEGULA OPENS UP ABOUT HER MOM

On Tuesday, Jessica Pegula – daughter of Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula – took to Twitter to discuss the story of her mother’s cardiac arrest incident and her recovery since.

Kim Pegula went into cardiac arrest in June of 2022 and it changed the Pegula family’s lives forever.

FEB 2 JOE MIXON ARREST WARRANT ISSUED

A little over two weeks since helping eliminate the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional, an arrest warrant has been issued for Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon, per reports Thursday.

An arrest warrant obtained from WCPO-TV in Cincinnati says that Mixon allegedly pointed a gun at the face of woman on Jan. 21 in downtown Cincinnati and said they should be “popped in the face.”

If the timeline proves to be correct, this would mean the incident occurred the day before the Bengals beat the Bills 27-10 in the AFC Divisional.

“The club is investigating the situation and will not comment further at this time,” the Bengals said Thursday.

FEB 2 HALL TO RAVENS? Buffalo Bills wide receivers coach Chad Hall will reportedly visit the Baltimore Ravens to interview for their vacant offensive coordinator position.

The opening exists following the departure of Greg Roman, the former Bills top assistant. … and if you listen to Stefon Diggs, Hall, 36 – Buffalo’s receivers coach – might be qualified to be a top guy as well.

Hall played in the NFL NFL as an undrafted rookie out of Air Force and has now become a valued Sean McDermott aide.

“He does an extremely great job and I never want to lose him,” Diggs has said, labeling him “the best coach on the staff.”

Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and quarterbacks coach Joe Brady are other Buffalo assistants involved in possible moves.

JAN 25 BILLS FIRST PICK After impressive four-season career at Auburn, Derick Hall is coming to the NFL.

And Mel Kiper thinks the edge rusher is coming to Buffalo as the No. 27 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft.

Kiper’s mock labels Hall a potential “steal.”

For what it’s worth, our pal Dane Brugler in his latest mock draft for The Athletic, he has Hall being drafted at the back of the second round.

Buy Tigers Tickets

Hall (6-3, 256) was a team captain for his senior season and this year had 60 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 7.0 sacks, and also intercepted a pass, forced two fumbles, and recovered one.

JAN 22 MAHOMES UPDATE Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is insisting “I’ll be good to go!” after injuring his ankle on Saturday in the first half of a 27-20 playoff win over Jacksonville, sending the Chiefs to their fifth straight AFC title game.

But if he is indeed “good to go,” NFL Network reports, it’ll be with a high ankle sprain.

Expect Mahomes’ ankle to be a central storyline as Kansas City will play host to either Buffalo or Cincinnati in the AFC Championship Game next Sunday.

JAN 21 BOLD PREDICTION Jaguars star pass rusher Josh Allen – “the other Josh Allen” – visited with NBC’s pregame show about an hour before kickoff for Saturday’s playoff game at Arrowhead, and went big.

“We didn’t come this far to come this far. We’re going to win this game,” Allen said. “That’s our mentality. We’re going to win. We’re going to win.”

The Jaguars enter this weekend’s matchup 9.5-point underdogs to the one-seeded Chiefs. The winner gets the winner of Sunday’s Bengals at Bills game in the AFC title game.

JAN 19 BILLS TO LONDON The NFL has announced the five teams that are set to play in the 2023 International Games. … and your Buffalo Bills lead the list.

The Bills, along with Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots, will each play international games during the 2023 regular season.

The Bills and the Titans will each play a game at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Jaguars will also being playing in the UK. And the 2023 season will also see the Chiefs and Patriots both play regular-season games in Germany.

Details of the dates, matchups and kickoff times will be confirmed later in the year when the full 2023 schedule is announced.

JAN 16 BILLS FAN MISSING Orchard Park Police are asking for help in locating a missing person who was around Highmark Stadium during Sunday’s Bills’ Wild Card victory.

Police say the missing person is a white man, about 5-9, with a scruffy beard and is wearing a Cole Beasley No. 11 jersey with a dark jacket and faded blue jeans.

He “was last seen on the eastern side of the stadium at approximately 8:30 p.m.,” police said on social media. “The male was seen heading toward the wooded area/ravine, toward Shadow Lane and California Road area.”

Police now say the ravine had been “thoroughly searched” and that they are confident that nobody is in distress. Nevertheless, anyone with information to offer on this man’s whereabouts is asked to call Orchard Park Police at 716-662-6444.

JAN 14 BILLS ELEVATE JOHN “SMOKE” BROWN FOR DOLPHINS GAME

The Buffalo Bills have elevated receiver John Brown and defensive tackle Eli Ankou from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s AFC Wild Card matchup against the Miami Dolphins at Highmark Stadium.

Brown is coming off a Week 18 performance that saw him snag a diving 42-yard touchdown on his first catch of the season.

Ankou recorded stats in four games for the Bills last season after the team signed him to the practice squad mid-season, totaling nine tackles.

JAN 12 COLE BEASLEY SIGNS WITH BILLS

In an effort to add more experience to the wide receiver corps, the Buffalo Bills have signed wide receiver Cole Beasley from the practice squad to the active roster, per NFL Network.

Beasley, 33, played in two games for the Bills this season, catching two passes for 18 yards.

Beasley has played in each of the last four seasons for the Bills, and signing him for the stretch run gives Josh Allen a familiar face to pass to alongside Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis and Isaiah McKenzie among others.

JAN 9 MALIK BOYD GM INTERVIEW

The Bills’ senior director of pro personnel, Malik Boyd, will interview for the vacant Titans GM job, reports NFL Network.

Boyd, 52, was a long-time Arizona Cardinals scout who since 2017 has been a key contributor to the building of one of the NFL’s best rosters here in Buffalo.

He was a player in the mid-90’s for the Vikings before launching his career in scouting.

Worth noting: In addition to the Tennessee vacancy, Boyd’s connections might make him a candidate for the open GM job in Arizona as well.

JAN 6 LEAGUE VOTES ON AFC TITLE GAME

The NFL owners voted Friday for the proposed changes to the AFC playoffs, which is highlighted by the possibility of a neutral-site AFC Championship game, per reports from NFL Network.

The altered AFC playoff plan comes in the wake of Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffering from cardiac arrest in the first quarter of Monday’s matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals, which resulted in the cancellation of the game.

Full details on the new playoff and AFC title game plan can be read here.

JAN 2 HAMLIN CRITICAL Damar Hamlin is in critical condition and is reportedly being “intubated” – meaning is being helped to breath – at a Cincinnati hospital after an early-game tackle in his Bills game at the Bengals.

The NFL has suspended the game in recognition of the seriousness of Hamlin’s injury.

Hamlin, a sixth-round pick by the Bills last season, was driven off the field in an ambulance after falling to the ground and apparently losing consciousness in the first quarter following a hard tackle on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins.

This season, Hamlin has 63 solo tackles, one forced fumble, 1.5 sacks and two passes defended.

JAN 2 BEASLEY ELEVATED

The Buffalo Bills have made a pair of moves in advance of their Monday Night Football matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium, elevating wide receiver Cole Beasley and offensive lineman Alec Anderson to the active roster.

Beasley has played in two games for the Bills this season, making one catch for nine yards on one target in each of his appearances.

He also played two games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, making four catches on five targets for 17 yards.

DEC 26 ‘PRAY FOR BUFFALO’ Buffalo and the surrounding area have been pounded by a massive blizzard with, in some case, tragic results.

“Please pray for the safety of everybody in Buffalo,” wrote Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs on Twitter.

At least 28 people have died during the 2022 blizzard in Western New York.

County Executive Mark Poloncarz acknowledged that number will likely go up.

“There may be more,” Poloncarz said Sunday during a press briefing. “I don’t want to say this is going to be it, because that would be fallacy for me to say that. Because we know there are people stuck in cars for more than two days. And there are people in homes that are below freezing now temperatures.”

The AFC-leading Bills play at Cincinnati next weekend.

DEC 26 TUA OUT AGAIN Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa played poorly in yet another Miami loss on Christmas weekend … and now he has again been placed in the concussion protocol.

Head coach Mike McDaniel said it wasn’t clear when Tagovailoa was injured in the loss to the Packers, but TV replays showed his head hitting the turf at Hard Rock Stadium late in the second quarter …

McDaniel said it is too early to determine who will start at quarterback for the Dolphins when they face the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Week 17 next Sunday.

Miami has lost four straight is 8-7, the Pats 7-8, both fighting for their playoff lives. … both trailing the 12-3 division-title-clinching Bills.

DEC 21 FOUR BILLS TO PRO BOWL Four Bills have been named to the 2023 Pro Bowl: Quarterback Josh Allen, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, safety Jordan Poyer and center Mitch Morse will be representing the Bills in the event in Vegas, which under a new format is more about “flag football” and other skills challenges and no longer about an actual game.

But the honor is the same. It’s Allen’s second time earning Pro Bowl honors, Diggs’ third time, with Poyer and Morse going for the first time.

DEC 21 JOSH WINS AGAIN Bills quarterback Josh Allen is the AFC Offensive Player of the Week – and is in the record books alongside Dan Marino.

In the Bills’ 32-29 win over Miami, Allen completed 25 of 40 passes with four passing touchdowns, plus 10 carries for 77 yards.

As part of the performance, Allen tied Dolphins legend Dan Marino for the most total touchdowns in a player’s first five seasons.

Allen wins this honor for the 10th time, so he is tied with former quarterback Jim Kelly for the most Bills Player of the Week awards.

The Buffalo Bills will be heading to Chicago to compete against the Bears this Saturday at 1 p.m.MORSE LEAVES GAME With the Buffalo Bills embroiled in a tight matchup with the Miami Dolphins at Highmark Stadium, they may be forced to continue on without the anchor of their offensive line.

Buffalo center Mitch Morse has left the game in the third quarter and is reportedly being evaluated for a head injury.

As such, swing lineman David Quessenberry is in the game at right guard while Greg Van Roten is in at center.

Morse has also battled an elbow injury throughout the season. He entered Saturday night’s game having played in 11 games, taking 94 percent of Buffalo’s offensive snaps.

DEC 16 MOVES The Buffalo Bills are listing these players as inactive for Saturday night vs. the Dolphins:

  • CB Xavier Rhodes
  • S Dean Marlowe
  • LB Baylon Spector
  • OL Ryan Bates
  • TE Tommy Sweeney
  • DT Jordan Phillips
  • Meanwhile, Cole Beasley has been elevated off the practice squad for the game and will be active for the big AFC East “Saturday Showdown.”

DEC 16 SNOW PROBLEM Saturday’s massive game between the 8-5 Miami Dolphins and 10-3 Buffalo Bills slated to be played at Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium is still on …

But so is a “lake effect snow warning” for the Buffalo region, with some suggestions that the area could get three feet of snow by the Orchard Park kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Last month, the Week 11 matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Bills was moved to Detroit. There is at present no indication that the NFL plans a similar change here.

DEC 13 BEAS OFFICIAL, 4 MOVES Buffalo made it official on receiver Cole Beasley, and he has signed with the team’s practice squad, with a plan for him to move up to the Josh Allen-led varsity soon enough.

The Bills also added defensive lineman Brandin Bryant to their 53-man roster while cutting defensive tackle C.J. Brewer and releasing receiver Marquez Stevenson from the practice squad.

DEC 10 SMOKE UP The Bills announced on Saturday that they are elevating receiver John “Smoke” to the active roster.

Brown, 32, joined the Bills in 2019 and played two seasons here, becoming a locker room and fan favorite. He recently signed on with the Bills practice squad and could be in line to contribute to Sunday’s Jets at Buffalo AFC East showdown.

DEC 8 TICKING TIME BOMB? Is Odell Beckham Jr. – or, more specifically, his knee – a “ticking time bomb”?

That is among the eye-catching phrases being used by NFL reporter Albert Breer of SI, who says that before the Rams signed him last season, they assumed his knee would eventually “explode” as a result of a 2020 surgery that was “botched.”

Said Breer: “They thought he wouldn’t be able to make it through the year without his knee exploding … Odell Beckham’s 2020 surgery was a mess to the point where the Rams had concerns about signing him last year – feeling like his knee was a ticking time bomb.

“That bomb went off in the Super Bowl.”

How much is this more recent surgery tied to the previous one? That is not fully known. But CowboysSI.com reported last week – well before Beckham’s two-day visit to Dallas – that the Cowboys privately viewed his decision to not work out as a “red flag.”

And the Bills’ reluctance to even make an offer – a situation we believe to be the case as of late Thursday – suggests a “red flag” as well.

It doesn’t mean the Bills think OBJ’s rehabbing knee is going to “explode.” But “red flag”? Yes. We can go with that.

DEC 7 ARAZIA UPDATE Former Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza and his teammates on the San Diego State football team will not face criminal charges in connection with an alleged gang rape of a minor that occurred at a party in October 2021, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.

A civil case is ongoing with the rookie Araiza having been cut on Aug. 27 amid an accusation of him of having sex with a then-17-year-old high school senior, and then holding her at his residence while multiple men raped her.

    But why no criminal charges?

“Ultimately, prosecutors determined it is clear the evidence does not support the filing of criminal charges and there is no path to a potential criminal conviction,” the DA’s office said “Prosecutors can only file charges when they ethically believe they can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.”

DEC 1 HAMLIN EJECTED AFTER MEYERS HIT In the waning moments of the Buffalo Bills’ blowout win over the New England Patriots, defensive back Damar Hamlin was ejected following a hit on wide receiver Jakobi Meyers.

Hamlin’s play will likely be reviewed by the league in the coming days and the Bills safety could receive a fine or discipline.

DEC 1 JUDON NEW DEAL The Patriots are trying to keep up with the Bills … on the field and under the salary cap.

Along those lines, New England has restructured the contract of standout pass-rusher Matthew Judon. The restructure will add $2.21 million to New England’s current cap room.

This move (read more here) is all about operating costs for New England, not tied to any particular move … unlike what many OBJ-minded folks think about what the Bills front office has just done …

NOV 30 NEW TRE’ FOR OBJ? The Buffalo Bills are planning on getting on-field help from Tre’Davious White now that he’s healthy.

But as first noted by Sal Capaccio, the Bills are now now using White’s contract to create $2.5 million in cap space.

The team was reportedly down to $332,000 in remaining cap space.

White, a former first-round pick by the Bills in the 2017 NFL Draft and a standout before his knee injury, is simply involved in a business move here – the transfer of money from one pocket to another. At that $2.5 mil of room? Every bit helps … especially for a Bills team planning to bid on Odell Beckham Jr.

NOV 28 OBJ ‘COMEDY HOUR’ Odell Beckham Jr., early on Sunday, tweeted about a notable experience without being specific, calling something “Comedy hour.”

And what is that “something”? It appears that OBJ, the target of the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys and others, got himself involved in an airplane incident that allegedly – you can look for yourself – got him escorted off the airplane.

“Never in my life have I experienced what just happened to me,” OBJ tweeted. “I’ve seen it all.”

The Bills and Cowboys certainly hope that whatever trouble OBJ got himself involved in that it doesn’t impact their plans to host the free agent this week, with the plan that the two-time All-Pro receiver can be the over-the-top piece of a Super Bowl charge.

NOV 27 PETERMAN STARTING FOR BEARS Former Buffalo Bills quarterback Nathan Peterman, infamous for his subpar performances and interceptions, is drawing his first NFL start since 2018 for the Chicago Bears today.

The Bears elevated him from the practice squad yesterday after Justin Fields’ shoulder injury. Trevor Siemian was expected to start against the New York Jets, but hurt his oblique during warmups, leading Peterman to start.

NOV 26 3 MOVES The Bills on Saturday signed vet cornerback Xavier Rhodes up from their practice squad and also placed promising rookie corner Christian Benford on IR.

Oh, and one more: Fan favorite John “Smoke” Brown is back as well.

The 5-10 speedster Brown is joining the Buffalo practice squad.

NOV 24 VON MILLER INJURED Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller suffered a lower body injury on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions.

He walked off on his own power and received further attention in the blue medical tent.

Stick with Bills Central for updates on this developing story.

Check out LIVE GAME UPDATES HERE…

NOV 21 BILLS WALKING BOOTS The Buffalo Bills got their win over the Cleveland Browns … but they also collected some injury issues.

According to the WGR-550, center Mitch Morse, defensive end AJ Epenesa and offensive lineman David Quessenberry left Ford Field in Detroit in walking boots.

There is no “good time” for injuries, but as the 7-3 Bills’ next game is on Thanksgiving back in Detroit against Lions, these three and more are issues to be monitored.

NOV 20 2 ROSTER MOVES The Buffalo Bills are in Detroit, having fled the blizzard, and a pair of practice-squadders are there with them.

This weekend, the Bills elevated receiver Tanner Gentry and cornerback Xavier Rhodes to their active roster for this Week 11 game against the Browns at Ford Field.

Rhodes, 32, once the No. 25 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, could be especially helpful to the Bills defense while Tre’Davious White continues to work his way back.

NOV 18 PRACTICE OFF The blizzard that moved Sunday’s Browns vs. Bills game out of Buffalo is also moving the Bills off their own practice field today.

The Bills on Friday announced that today’s workout is cancelled due to the weather, so Bills players and coaches will meet virtually.

NOV 17 MOVING GAME The Buffalo Bills can play in bad weather. But even this team and this city has its limits, as far as the NFL is concerned. So … the blizzard about to hit Buffalo calls for a change.

And so the NFL is moving Sunday’s Browns at Bills game, with the latest forecasts calling for up to six feet of snow in the coming days in Western New York.

The game will be moved from Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park to Detroit’s Ford Field. The Browns (3–6) and the Bills (6–3) are scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.

And – not coincidentally – the Bills next game is also at Detroit, against the Lions, creating a “double-header” of sorts for the traveling Bills.

NOV 13 2 QUICK TDS  Justin Jefferson opened the scoring in Vikings at Bills and punctuated it with what is being called a “Fake Hamstring Injury Griddy” ..

    OK.

The Bills, with injured QB Josh Allen (elbow) starting, answered with a drive keyed by Duke Johnson’s kickoff return, Devin Singletary’s short TD run tying the score at 7-all.

NOV 11 JOSH WATCH Coach Sean McDermott appeared on @WGR550 on Friday morning – after two says of his star QB not practicing – and said the Bills are taking Josh Allen not only “one day” at a time but – even more precisely – “one hour” at a time.

Buffalo hasn’t yet shut down the idea of Allen (elbow) playing on Sunday against visiting Minnesota, but Case Keenum has been the QB of record all week at practice.

NOV 9 INJURY UPDATE Josh Allen is the headliner here for the Bills (6-2) as they prep for a visit from Minnesota (7-1). But coach Sean McDermott has Buffalo getting ready for midweek work with some other injury concerns as well.

“We’re just going through it, we’re still evaluating it. I’ll know more in the next 24 hours,” McDermott said of Allen and the possibility he could be limited in practice all week with what might be a UCL sprain of the throwing elbow.

Additionally, McDermott confirmed that defensive end Greg Rousseau sustained a “week-to-week injury” in last week’s loss at the Jets. He called Rousseau’s issue a high-ankle sprain.

The coach also touched on defensive stars Jordan Poyer (elbow), Tre’Davious White (knee) and linebacker Matt Milano (oblique) – none of whom played at the Jets – stating that all three are “improving.”

NOV 5 BEANE’S ‘F’ YOU’ TRADE Bills GM Brandon Beane likely endeared himself even more this week when on the “The Pat McAfee Show” he shared a “F’ You” moment regarding the trade that brings Nyheim Hines from the Indianapolis Colts to Buffalo.

McAfee, who happens to have been a Colts standout, offered a playful “F*** you” to Beane for stealing a Colts weapon.

“Well, I respectfully appreciate the f*** you there,” Beane responded with a laugh. “But in all seriousness, he’s a guy that I’ve had my eye on before. We’ve checked into him, just like you check into guys at different times. A couple of summers ago, I believe it was the COVID summer, I really didn’t feel like we had that piece in the backfield for Josh Allen.”

Hines, the former fourth-round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft, will work behind Devin Singletary – maybe as soon as this weekend as the Bills play at the Jets – and is also a standout punt returner.

In order to make the trade for Hines, Buffalo sent over running back Zack Moss and a conditional sixth-round pick in 2023.

Said Beane of Moss: “We still think he’s a good player. … Hopefully, he’ll go to Indy and that’ll work out for him.”

    But otherwise? F*** you.

    OCT 24 JETS TRADE

Rookie Breece Hall is hurt and out for the year. But the Jets don’t want to be out of the AFC East race, so they have traded for another back, the Jaguars’ James Robinson.

The trade cost is not expensive, a sixth-round pick that could become a fifth-rounder. And the cap cost is just $500,000, so that works, too, for a Jets team that at 5-2 is trying to keep pace with the 5-1 Bills.

Are the Bills interested in adding a running back as part of this arms race? Here’s the latest.

    OCT 20 MCCAFFREY TRADED

The Carolina Panthers have found a trade partner for star running back, Christian McCaffrey – the San Francisco 49ers.

According to multiple reports, the Panthers will be sending McCaffrey to the Niners in exchange for multiple second-day picks.

The Bills were one of the teams, alongside the Rams and 49ers, who were mentioned to be in the race for McCaffrey.

Just last week against the Rams, McCaffrey had 158 yards from scrimmage in 20 total touches. And for the season, the Stanford product has 670 yards from scrimmage on 118 touches, with three touchdowns, in an otherwise anemic offense.
