BTS’ Jungkook has sold his plush apartment in Seoul, South Korea, a report said.
SBS News reported that Jungkook got 2.5 billion won ($1.79 million) for the sale of his unit at the Seoul Forest Trimage complex earlier this month. The youngest member of the K-pop group BTS purchased the Seoul apartment back in October 2018 for 1.95 billion won ($1.7 million).
Jungkook purchased the apartment in cash, Koreaboo reported. The 23-year-old pop star, who never lived in the unit since acquiring it, bought it solely for investment purposes, per SBS News.
Real estate professionals speculated that Jungkook may not have made a profit with this purchase owing to heavy property taxes and other fees that he might have to pay.
All seven BTS members — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook — continue to live together in their shared dorm, a luxurious Hannam The Hill apartment in Seoul.
Despite this, all the members have bought individual apartments, with Jungkook and J-Hope buying one each at the Seoul Forest Trimage complex.
The Korea Times reported that Jin purchased an apartment at Hannam The Hill in March 2018 for 1.9 billion won ($1.7 million) in cash.
The Seoul Forest Trimage complex is also nicknamed as “Celebrity Town” due to the many celebrities residing there. Some of its South Korean celebrity occupants are “Flower of Evil” star Kim Ji-hoon, Girls’ Generation’s Sunny, Super Junior’s Siwon and Heechul and “When the Weather Is Fine” star Seo Kang-joon.
BTS, meanwhile, is working hard and gearing up for its highly anticipated new album “BE,” which is set to be released on Nov. 20.
