Browns 2021 opponent power rankings: Orange and Brown Talk

Browns #Browns

CLEVELAND, Ohio — For a third place schedule, the Browns’ 2021 slate sure has some doozies.

It starts with facing the entirety of the AFC West, a division with the potential to be one of the best in football, already featuring Kansas City but also including the Chargers with one of the game’s best young quarterbacks, the Broncos with a stabilized quarterback position and the Raiders, who are no pushover.

Then there’s NFC North matchups against Green Bay — of course, there’s a big if with the Packers right now — and Minnesota, always a playoff contender. They also face the revamped Patriots along with their regular slate of division opponents, most notably the Ravens.

Oh, and there’s the extra game against the Cardinals.

On paper, at least, it’s a tougher schedule than a year ago, so it will offer the revamped Browns and their second-year head coach a good test to see how far they’ve come after winning their first playoff game since before they skipped town in 1995.

Mary Kay Cabot, Ellis Williams and I power-ranked the 14 Browns’ opponents on their schedule this year. Coming Thursday, we’ll have a roundtable reaction to the schedule, which comes out in its entirety on Wednesday night at 8 p.m.
