Brora shake off the rust to inflict ‘embarrassing’ defeat on Hearts

Hearts were two penalty kicks away from winning the 2020 Scottish Cup final in December; last night they crashed out of the 2021 competition at the first time of asking in one of the most humiliating nights in the club’s history.
A 2-1 defeat at the hands of Brora Rangers — who had played just one match in 2021 and 10 competitively since the pandemic began — owed everything to the part-timers’ incredible energy, fitness and defiance but also the fecklessness of a Hearts side who just didn’t turn up.
