Courtland Sutton is feeling lonely after his long-time teammate was traded on Saturday.
The Denver Broncos reportedly agreed to a trade that will send wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns for a pair of draft picks.
Sutton and Jeudy have been linked since Jeudy was drafted by the Broncos in 2020. Sutton was sad to see his friend go, posting a “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” meme on social media following the news.
Sutton and Jeudy have been the Broncos’ leading receivers for the past two seasons amid struggles in Denver. Last season, Sutton had 772 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while Jeudy had 758 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Now, the two will go their separate ways and will be looking for big seasons on their respective teams.
Denver is entering a new era after informing quarterback Russell Wilson that it plans to release him, and the Broncos are hoping a change under center will help them return to the playoffs for the first time since 2015.
The Browns hope the addition of Jeudy will lead to success after coming up short in the wild-card round of the playoffs a year ago. Jeudy, 24, is looking to get over the hump of recording his first 1,000+ receiving yard season, and Cleveland might be the place for him to do it.
