Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry made NBA history on Wednesday night.
On Wednesday evening, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors are facing off with the Los Angeles Clippers in California.
During the game, Curry made NBA history, as he has now passed Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time assists list.
The two-time MVP came into the night with 5,658 assists, which ranked 49th on the list.
He only needed three assists to pass Abdul-Jabbar (5,660) and move to 48th.
While he is widely seen as the greatest shooter ever (he’s the all-time leader for three-pointers made), Curry is also an elite passer with a career average of 6.5 assists per contest.
He came into the game with outstanding averages of 29.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.0 steals per contest in 43 games.
The four-time NBA Champion is also shooting 49.7% from the field and 43.6% from the three-point range.
If Curry hadn’t missed 26 games this season, he likely would have been in the MVP conversation with how well he has played.
He is in his 14th season in the NBA (all with the Warriors) and has led them to the NBA Finals in six out of the last eight seasons.
At 35-years-old, he is still playing like a top-five player in the world.
The Warriors came into the night with a 36-33 record in 69 games, which had them tied with the Clippers for the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
Following Wednesday’s game, they will play four more games on the road against the Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks.
