Janey Godley has told fans her cancer has returned.

The comedian was told she was cancer free in June this year but has now shared how recent test results have shown remaining signs of the disease.

Janey took to social media earlier today to deliver the news to her loyal fans and followers, and reassured them she will still be performing her Not Dead Yet Tour across the UK.

The Scottish star admitted it may be the “last time” she performs live on stage next year, with the tour scheduled to kick off in Scotland with some additional dates in London.

In the video posted on Twitter, Jane said: “My recent scan and my blood tests showed that my cancer marker went up.

“There’s still a bit of disease in my abdomen. So I want you all to know that I’ll be going through some more chemotherapy.

She added: “I also want you to know that I’m going ahead with the tour in February and March. I am determined to get back on stage.

“I’m looking forward to the tour, I think it’s fair and honest to say it might be the last time you see me live on stage. I’m hoping it’s not, but I think it’s a fair estimation that will be what we’re looking at.”

Janey went on to discuss her plans for a “fabulous tour” and explained how while the news her cancer is back isn’t “want everyone wanted to hear”, her cancer is being treated.

The star captioned the video: “Hello everyone – an update and just to let you know I am looking forward to the tour on Feb-March. Thanks to everyone supporting me.”

Fans and famous friends were quick to send their well-wishes to the star upon learning the news.

One reply to Janey’s message reads: “If you ever need to look at giving it your best shot in adversity look at my pal Janey.”

Comedian Alistair Barrie added: “If I was cancer I would be f***ing terrified right now. It doesn’t know who it’s messing with. Big love for a big tour Janey. And the one after.”

“Janey is the best,” Richard K Herring began in his reply to the star’s update. “Horrible news but met head on. Go and see her live. You won’t regret it. Much love Janey.”

Janey was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November 2021, and has since undergone chemotherapy treatment and a hysterectomy procedure.

In June this year, the comedy star shared a video on social media in which she told fans: “I’ve just had a phone call from the cancer specialist and the scan has come back clear.”
