Chelsea’s squad for the knockout stages of the Champions League has today been revealed, and not all of their new player’s were eligible to be admitted into the list.

There is a massive exclusion from the original squad list for a player who is now almost certain to leave the club in the summer. He could have left in January.

Chelsea have however named their three marquee signings from January in the list, as they look to try and win the competition.

The squad list has been released and it is unfortunate news for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gambian has been removed form the squad list, and will not feature in the second half of the season.

Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Enzo Fernandez have been included in the list. They are deemed as the three big name players brought in by the club.

Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke, David Datro Fofana, Gabriel Slonina and Andrey Santos were unable to be registered in the squad list. They will not play in the competition this season.

It will be hard to take for the player’s who signed who are unable to take part in the competition, and if the club fail to qualify for the competition next year that will be two years without the chance to play in the Champions League.

The Aubameyang omission is the biggest news, but Chelsea have added three really big key names on the bright side and they’ll be hoping to give it a good shot.
