Bournemouth v Chelsea: No Caicedo, Chilwell a sub

Chilwell #Chilwell

Chelsea’s recent £115m signing Moises Caicedo is not in the matchday squad for the game at the Vitality Stadium.

Lesley Ugochukwu makes his first Premier League start, while Mykhailo Mudryk also comes in. Ben Chilwell only makes the bench.

Youngsters Ronnie Stutter, Alfie Gilchrist, Deivid Washington and Alex Matos are also among the Blues substitutes.

Speaking to Sky Sports before the game, boss Mauricio Pochettino said Caicedo is absent because a knee problem.

“He arrived back from international duty with a knock to his knee,” Pochettino said.

“We need to assess him in the next few days but he was not available for today and that’s why he’s not here.”

Mudryk playing on the left in place of Chilwell is something of a surprise.

Pochettino explained: “We are going to play with Mudryk in the position Chilwell has been playing.

“We wanted to play with a more offensive player.”

Meanwhile, Bournemouth make three changes from their draw with Brentford prior to the international break.

Subs: Radu, Brooks, Rothwell, Smith, Sinisterra, Kluivert, Traore, Semenyo, Senesi.
