George Springer was forced to leave Game 2 on a cart after a collision with Blue Jays teammate Bo Bichette.
Springer and Bichette were both chasing a bloop hit in shallow centre-field off the bat of Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford. After the teammates collided, Springer stayed down on the field for a few minutes before eventually rising to his feet.
Visibly shaken up, Springer was surrounded by teammates, the team trainer and manager John Schneider before taking a seat on the cart and exiting the game. On his way off the field, he raised his hand in the air several times, pumping up a crowd who was silenced after the shocking incident.
To add insult to injury for the Blue Jays, all three runners on base scored for the Mariners on the play, which resulted in a double, tying the game at 9-9. The Jays had an 8-1 lead earlier in the game.
