‘Blood on your hands PM’: Michael Slater slams India travel ban from the Maldives
Maldives #Maldives
Former Australian cricketer Michael Slater has taken aim at the prime minister claiming Mr Morrison has “blood on his hands” for abandoning Australians amid India’s escalating crisis. Mr Slater was in India commentating for the Indian Premier League before he was prevented from returning home to Australia. The Australian newspaper reports the former batsman jetted to the Maldives where he will wait until he can legally return home. Slater tweeted: “If our government cared for the safety of Aussies they would us to get home. It’s a disgrace!! Blood on your hands PM”. “How dare you treat us like this. How about you sort out quarantine system. I had government permission to work on the IPL but I now have government neglect.” It follows concerns for Australian cricketers Pat Cummins and Ben Cutting who have been sent into isolation after two of their IPL teammates tested positive.
