Block contestants Kristy and Brett accuse Channel Nine of favouritism

The new season of The Block is embroiled in controversy with contestants Kristy and Brett lashing out at Channel Nine for playing favourites.
In Sunday night’s episode of the reality renovation show, the Adelaide couple, both 34, accused the network of favouring sisters Liberty and Eliza after foreman Dan could be seen driving Liberty around so she could run errands, according to Daily Mail Australia.
And it isn’t the first time the sisters have received special treatment.

Earlier in the week, host Scott Cam gave them $500 for being the “most improved team”, causing turmoil among the other teams.
“Liberty and Eliza get gifted everything, every week. I don’t know how they’ve blown out their budget, because they get given money every single day,” Kristy said in a piece to camera.
“They get everything handed to them on a silver platter, ‘You woke up this morning! Here’s $500.’ You know what? We’ll get a handout every f**king day of the week, then we’ll be sweet.”

One of The Block’s producers, Steve, denied Kristy’s accusations, though, telling the revved up couple that all contestants were treated equally while on the show.
“Dude, you are so far off the mark,” the producer said.
“I don’t need the reassurance, though,” Brett replied, adding “if this is how we feel then this is how we feel.”

Kristy and Brett’s dummy spit comes after the sisters they’ve put in the firing line – Eliza and Liberty went rogue in a radio interview in August.
Eliza, 37, and Liberty, 34, accused this year’s season of having “mean girl cliques” and a “w..ky” new judge in Marty Fox.
The Melbourne-based duo said Fox was actually “a lovely man” behind the scenes, but put on a facade when filming started rolling.

Fox harshly judged the sisters’ studio room in last week’s episode, claiming it would have looked better “empty.”
Chatting with KIIS 101.1’s Jase and Lauren, Eliza and Liberty revealed that some of the teams from season 19 no longer speak to one another now that filming has wrapped.
“You’ll already sense an undertone of a mean girl culture between a couple of people. That unfortunately intensifies to the point where it comes to a head,” they said.
“There are so many shattered relationships. I think the real struggle is that Leah and Kristy from House 2 and 3 formed this clique and it was mean. So the rest of us are wounded.”
Despite remaining “amicable” with their fellow contestants, they said the once bubbly team group chat that came to be during filming has become eerily quiet since The Block went to air.
“Not a single message has been sent,” the sisters revealed.
