BLG vs Weibo Gaming Recap Worlds 2023 Semifinals Day 14.
The first semifinals match of Worlds kicked off with MSI 2023 finalists BLG fighting Weibo Gaming. Weibo was responsible for eliminating the last LCS team from Worlds 2023 last week before BLG won a bo5 silver scrapes series against the monsters from Gen.G. That said, Weibo has a lot to overcome, but no team is secure when the Summoner’s Cup is just within arm’s reach.
One team took a step closer to the throne, while the other ended their arduous year-long run in the toughest region to beat this season. Read about how it all went down in this BLG vs Weibo Gaming Recap.
BLG vs Weibo Gaming Recap – Game 1
A huge botlane skirmish set the mood for the early game as ON and co. got first blood on a retreating Crisp. As a consequence, Weibo immediately cracked down on objectives for the gold lead. Shortly after, Weiwei and TheShy answered back by killing Bin while he was under tower. At 15 minutes, the Rumble jungler used his lead to find 2 more kills which put WBG in a really good spot. From there, the LPL #4 seed worked like a well-oiled machine to funnel gold towards their toplaner before they snowballed into an unstoppable Game 1 win.

BLG vs Weibo Gaming Recap – Game 2
A scrappy 1-for-1 kicked things off in Game 2 which stayed on the razor’s edge. Soonafter, both teams were able to scale and entered an absolute slugfest led by the toplaners until BLG found a solid lead. Bin’s Jax eventually got the upper hand despite the two Junglers staying consistently even. And despite TheShy’s Aatrox holding his own against multiple BLG players, the underdogs were eventually forced to recall and defend their broken base before BLG got an uncontested Elder and ended the game.

BLG vs Weibo Gaming Recap – Game 3
A highly volatile draft from both teams gave way to one of the scrappiest games of the season. A tense early game had both teams play respectfully for 15 minutes until BLG used their 3-drake lead to strike first. However, WBG found enough objective leads to close the gap and turn things around before BLG scaled. With a 4-kill lead, WBG went all out to destroy BLG’s defenses. Soon after, WBG slowly destroyed the enemy’s bot and midlane for a split push to their second victory.

BLG vs Weibo Gaming Recap – Game 4
WBG pulled out a few picks we haven’t seen recently while BLG stuck close to the meta. It paid off for the LPL #2 seed as Bin and co. put up 5 kills on the board before the 15-minute mark. Afterwards, every teamfight fell to BLG’s favor, giving them enough power to set up a risky Baron take 25 minutes in. With 3 dragons in their pocket and a huge kill lead, BLG claimed a commanding lead and wrecked WBG’s bot and midlane before finishing Game 3, equalizing the score and bringing the series to game 5.

BLG vs Weibo Gaming Recap – Game 5
Game 5 stayed on a razor’s edge for its entirety. Bin’s K’Sante was an unstoppable force, but Light’s Kalista couldn’t be caught. With 3 dragons falling to WBG, they enjoyed a slight advantage over the skirmished, but BLG soon found objectives all over the map to erase the deficit. Late into the game, neither team wanted to overcommit, which resulted in tons of pokes from both sides. One well-timed engage would’ve decided the series. But despite Bin’s aggressive plays splitting Xiaohu’s team, WBG were quick to regroup and forced a push into BLG’s base. And despite Bin and Elk’s champ advantage, they couldn’t do anything against a united WBG that took the 5th and final nexus.
