Binnington sustains undisclosed injury for Blues in Game 3

ST. LOUIS — Jordan Binnington sustained an undisclosed injury for the St. Louis Blues against the Colorado Avalanche in the first period of Game 3 of the Western Conference Second Round at Enterprise Center on Saturday.
Binnington was injured at 6:45 after he was knocked over by teammate Calle Rosen and Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri, who was skating hard for a rebound. No penalty was assessed on the play.
Binnington initially tried to shake off the injury, but as he was moving from side to side in his crease, he appeared to be in pain and skated off the ice. He was replaced by Ville Husso.

Husso, who was replaced by Binnington in Game 4 of the Western Conference First Round against the Minnesota Wild, is 1-2 with a 3.02 goals-against average and .906 save percentage in three starts in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Binnington, who made three saves before leaving the game, entered Game 3 having won four of his five starts this postseason with a 1.75 GAA and .948 save percentage. He made 51 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Avalanche in Game 1, and 30 in Game 2 to help the Blues even the series with a 4-1 win.
Avalanche defenseman Samuel Girard also left in the first period of Game 3, sustaining an upper-body injury following a hit by Ivan Barbashev at 1:48. He skated off the ice with the help of a trainer before being taken to the local hospital for further evaluation.
