Bill Clinton advised Andrew Cuomo on sexual misconduct scandal: Report
Andrew #Andrew
Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo sought advice on navigating sexual misconduct allegations from former President Bill Clinton — who is somewhat familiar with the predicament.
In a forthcoming book, titled Any Given Tuesday, Democratic strategist Lis Smith claims that Clinton was the sole voice that believed Cuomo should press on after the piling, credible accusations became too much.

“The sole exception was former President Bill Clinton, who told him that he needed to go out and address the people of New York directly: to state that his fate was in their hands, not the politicians’. The consensus — among advisers, at least — was that unless Clinton, with his legendary political skills, was willing to do the mea culpa himself, it would do more harm than good,” reads the excerpt published by Politico.

The excerpt paints the picture of a politician desperate for comfort but who found none. The weight of accusations, partnered with the undeniable credibility, spelled the end of Cuomo as governor. And that’s exactly what one adviser bluntly told him.
“Governor. Stop. It’s over,” an unnamed adviser told him over the phone.
On the Aug. 3, 2021 conference call, the adviser, whom Smith describes as “not prone to hyperbole,” told Cuomo, “There is no path forward for you.”
The others he sought counsel from agreed, with the exception of Clinton.

Clinton has weathered the storm of sexual misconduct claims himself — and in front of the entire United States, no less.
The former president’s ideas were eventually dismissed, and Cuomo subsequently resigned.

It’s unclear if the former governor will be able to weather this storm and make a comeback, though he has made some question-provoking appearances at community events, including a church service recently, sparking rumors of a comeback attempt.
