The 2,000 supporters in attendance at Anfield weren’t enough to drive Liverpool on to win despite leading at home to struggling West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

The Baggies, under Sam Allardyce, managed to fight back against the Premier League champions to leave with a hard earned point.

Allardyce, in avoiding defeat on Sunday, has now gone unbeaten on his last four visits to Anfield, each of which have come with a different club.

Sadio Mane put the Reds ahead early on but Jurgen Klopp’s side were unable to build on their early advantage. Allaradyce has his side set up to frustrate the hosts, and his plan worked a treat.

Liverpool led until the 82nd minute when Semi Ajayi climbed highest to head a corner in off the post with what was his first Premier League goal.

Klopp’s Liverpool stay three points clear at the top of the table, with cross city rivals Everton sitting in second.
