Big Brother best friends Aleisha and Johnson go head to head as finale looms

Big Brother is getting down to the pointy end – with just five housemates remaining.
And of the five, it was Johnson and Aleisha who had dreams of making it to the finale together.
However, ‘challenge beast’ Taras had other plans, nominating the pair side by side for eviction.

As Aleisha’s name was announced, the distraught housemate left the living room, running outside to have some time to herself.
“Just give her some time,” Johnson told the other housemates before turning to Taras and asking him: “Are you trying to squeeze me out?”
“Yep,” Taras said matter-of-factly.

“I need Johnson to go home today. If he stays, then my ability to go to the top three is far lower,” Taras told Big Brother.
Later, Aleisha was seen crying in the diary room, where she admitted she was feeling “not good at all”.
“I don’t know what to do. I want to win so bad, but I don’t want it to be at the expense of my friend.
“I feel like forfeiting my spot and giving it to him.”

Aleisha told Big Brother she knows why Taras nominated her, “because Johnson and I are very close, but I’m playing this game by myself, not as a team”.
Johnson and Aleisha – who walked into the house together on day one – were seen having a debrief after learning they would not both make the final three.
“I’m so sorry… this is just the situation that we’re in,” Johnson told her.
“I’m proud of us,” Aleisha said of the pair having made it for 61 days in the house.
With only five people left in the game, every vote matters – and it appeared Reggie would be the swing vote.
The previous Big Brother winner promised Taras she would vote to evict Johnson – but that did not stop Johnson from one last-minute plea.
“Reggie I promise you, I am looking you in the eye and telling you, keep me here and I will take you to top three,” Johnson told her.
“And from one Big Brother fan to another, you know how much this means to me.”

Reggie appeared torn as she spoke to Big Brother, asking “What do I do?”
“Taras wants me to get rid of Johnson, but that’s good for Taras’ game but it’s not good for my game.
“But if I don’t do it, I’m worried that if Taras wins tomorrow, he will not take me to the end.
“Out of spite.”

As the eviction ceremony began, Aleisha admitted: “It’s no secret, Johnson is my number one. When I always talk about top three, I always talk about Johnson and myself”.
She said it’s the “one deal” she has made in the Big Brother house.
“Today’s a bad day,” Johnson said about sitting beside Aleisha.
“My journey ends, or my best friend’s journey ends.”
After all housemates voted, host Sonia Kruger delivered the results.
Due to a last-minute change from Reggie, Aleisha was evicted from the house.
Taras held his hands to his head, clearly shocked, and looked over to Reggie – who had gone against her word.

As Aleisha left, she said, “I truly thought Johnson was going home tonight.”
Looking back months later, Aleisha told 7Entertainment exclusively that being nominated beside Johnson was her “worst-case” scenario.
“This was a worst-case scenario to me, but out of anybody I was happy to lose to – for them to go back in the house and fight – it’s Johnson,” she said.

“He’s the only person I was sitting next to, otherwise I would have loved to go back.”
Aleisha recalled the moment she and Johnson learned about their side-by-side nominations.
“We actually went to the diary room and cried together, and we thanked [Big Brother] for this experience and he was having jokes with us and recalling memories,” she said.
