Big Brother 2022: Tully and Drew’s ‘infuriating’ fight

Tully #Tully

When former Big Brother couple Tully and Drew were announced to return to the series nine years on, fans could not wait to watch them hash out what happened in their relationship.

Viewers were kept waiting, though, as the pair appeared amicable – until now.

After a group challenge where Tully was voted as the biggest whinger in the house, she became upset, believing that her whinging was off the back of rude comments from her ex.

The housemate brought Drew into the yard to have a conversation and hash out their tricky relationship once and for all.

“I wouldn’t complain so much in here if it wasn’t for Drew,” Tully said in a confessional prior to speaking with Drew.

“He keeps snapping at me quite rudely out of nowhere and I’ve kind of tried to laugh it off.”

Heading up to the pool chairs to speak, Tully told her ex it was “best they have no witnesses”.

“What are you upset about?” Drew asked.

“I cannot fathom why I can’t seem to open my mouth without pissing you off,” Tully began, “your patience for me is at an all-time low.”

Interjecting, Drew said: “You don’t realise what you’re doing. You’re making snide comment…-”

“I know I’m snappy at you,” Drew began, “but you’ve been so rude.”

Tully told the housemate that she did not think she was being rude.

In a confessional, Drew told Big Brother he understood why they have not been getting on, explaining: “I’ve been so hungry, I’m very testy, she of anyone knows the weak spots to twist the knife.”

Tully said that the way Drew spoke to her was “embarrassing” and he “hasn’t been a real peach in here”.

“No I haven’t but that’s because you know exactly which buttons to press – out of anyone in here – you know exactly what gets me from zero to 100,” Drew said.

Tully said she was pushing buttons on purpose and that, “hand on heart,” she wanted them to get along.

But you’re so worked up about me that every day rather than having a clean slate, it’s like your cup is just filling up and I can’t say anything without you thinking I’m coming for you,” she said.

The friends agreed that for their relationship to work, Tully needed to be “less dramatic” and Drew “less aggressive”.

“I’m trying to resolve things,” Tully said/

“I want to be on better terms, it makes me disappointed, that of everyone in this f****** house, you and I should be watertight and we’re not.”

“We’ve actually not spent this amount of time together,” Drew observed.

“I love you though,” Tully responded, to which Drew said, “I love you too, psycho”.

Speaking to Big Brother later, Drew said he was “a better man because of [Tully].

“That was a very powerful moment in my life, being in the house with Tully,” he admitted.

“We’re not good for each other romantically, but we’ll always have a really strong friendship.”

‘Clear the air’

“We just weren’t getting along, we were constantly bickering,” Tully told 7Entertainment, reflecting on her intense conversation with Drew.

“And it was just uncomfortable and it was making me sad and we’ve been friends for nine years, we’re friendly outside.

“Why can’t we just get along in here?

“We’ve never spent this much time together because we broke up and we broke up for a reason,” she continued.

“We don’t work as a couple and so, to put two people that don’t work as a couple together in a house, it was always going to be testing and trying.”

Tully said that the goal was to “clear the air” and get through to Drew “because he was quite grumpy and quite snappy.”

“I just wanted to call a truce, call a ceasefire, and just bare minimum be able to be civil with each other.”
