Veteran WA bat Shaun Marsh is under yet another lower leg-injury cloud after a slip while running between wickets at the MCG.
During a sluggish 32 for the Melbourne Renegades in the Derby against the Melbourne Stars, Marsh’s feet came out from under him as he attempted to turn to make a second run.
The 39-year-old resumed his innings but looked sore throughout before being caught at mid-off in the second over of the Power Surge as his side struggled to find momentum.
Marsh only returned to competitive cricket at the end of last month after missing the first half of the domestic and Big Bash season with a calf complaint, off the back of off-season knee surgery.
After playing two successive matches, he was rested for the clash against his old armada, the Perth Scorchers, on Sunday.
The Renegades confirmed the West Australian would not take to the field after limping off.

Marsh is the sixth-leading run-scorer in BBL history with 2461 at an average of 39.69 but could join a Melbourne casualty ward that includes skipper Nic Maddinson who is out for the rest of the summer after rupturing his ACL against Perth.
The injury was a lowlight of a dour innings by the Renegades, who have lost four on the trot, as New Zealand superstar Trent Boult put on a show at the MCG.
