Joe Biden’s transition team is reportedly eyeing Republicans for positions on the former vice president’s Cabinet should he win the election in November.

Politico reported on Tuesday that the names of several Republicans have been floated for spots in a possible Biden administration, including John Kasich, the former governor of Ohio, Meg Whitman, the CEO of Quibi and former CEO of eBay, Charlie Baker, the governor of Massachusetts, Jeff Flake, a former senator for Arizona, and Charlie Dent, a former congressman from Pennsylvania.

Of those five people, Baker is the only one who has not directly endorsed Biden, though he has said he will not vote for President Trump.

In mid-September, Biden said he wouldn’t announce the names of his Cabinet picks before the election.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Biden transition team reiterated that they wouldn’t be making any decisions on the matter until after the election but added that “diversity of ideology and background is a core value of the transition.”

Several Republicans in the past few months have decided to endorse Biden rather than Trump.

“This plays to Joe Biden’s comfort zone,” said a former Republican member of Congress close to the Biden transition team. “If you’re Joe Biden, of course you’re going to want to expand your base a little bit, show some outreach to the other side.”
