Biden Leads Trump by 16 Points Among Suburban Voters in Five Battleground States: Poll

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden currently leads President Donald Trump by 16 points among likely suburban voters in five key battleground states, according to a new poll.
The poll, which was conducted by Third Way/David Binder Research, found 55 percent of suburban voters saying they’d vote for Biden if the election were held today, while 39 percent sided with Trump.
Among the 55 percent that chose Biden, 46 percent said Biden, definitely and 9 percent said “Biden, but still may change.” In comparison, among those choosing Trump, 30 percent said Trump, definitely and 9 percent said “Trump, but still may change.”
The poll surveyed 1,200 likely suburban voters in five battleground states, Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, from July 22 to July 26. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points. According to the poll, “suburbs were defined using a zip-code level classification compiled by the Department of Education.”

The poll found a majority of suburban voters across the five states saying they disapprove of the job Trump is doing overall.
According to the poll, 60 percent of respondents said they disapprove of Trump’s job as president, with 50 percent saying they strongly disapprove and 10 percent saying they somewhat disapprove.
Comparatively, 39 percent said they approve of the job Trump is doing, with both strongly approve and somewhat approve receiving 19 percent of the vote.

A separate poll, conducted by CNBC/Change Research, found similar results among all voters in battleground states such as Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
According to the poll, Biden leads Trump in five out of the six states, with his largest lead coming in Florida, as 50 percent of respondents said they’d vote for the former vice president, while 44 percent sided with Trump.
This poll also found Biden leading in Arizona (45 to 44 percent), Michigan (48 to 43 percent), Pennsylvania (48 to 44 percent) and Wisconsin (47 to 43 percent).
On the other hand, Trump holds a one-point lead in North Carolina (48 to 47 percent), the poll said.
The CNBC/Change research poll surveyed 2,701 likely voters across the six battleground states from August 7 to August 9. This poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.89 percentage points.
Biden also holds a lead over Trump nationally, according to several recently conducted polls.
A poll conducted by The Economist/YouGov found 50 percent of respondents saying they’d vote for Biden if the election were held today, compared to 40 percent that sided with Trump. This poll surveyed 1,500 U.S. adults from August 16 to August 18 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
