Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today (Fade Mike Clevinger)

If we learned anything from the Wild Card round we learned that it’s hard to pick a No Run First Inning and Yes Run First Inning when there’s four games all with great pitchers on the mound. Except now we have more information on these teams in the playoffs and some of the Wild Card teams don’t have their best pitchers left. That means it’s time to strike for NRFI and YRFI bets today. 

Phillies vs. Braves (-136)

The first game of the four Divisional Series games brings us our NRFI pick and it hinges on the fact that the Phillies really struggled in the Wild Card round on offense. Even though they won in two games, they had a .549 OPS and Jose Quintana shut them down for the majority of Game 1. Now in Game 1 of the NLDS they get to see Max Fried also throwing from the left side. 

Ranger Suarez goes for Philly and he has given up just one earned run in his last 17 innings against the Braves. Suarez might have their number. 

Padres vs. Dodgers (+105)

Mike Clevinger has to make the start for the Padres today and that is bad news for San Diego. He has made three starts against the Dodgers this year and has a 9.69 ERA against them. 

We also watched the Padres score 16 runs in the Wild Card round and have .753 OPS in the series. They hit five homers and are swinging very hot bats right now.
