The Bensenville Park District unveiled a sensational lineup of musical acts for the annual Harvest Fest at Fischer Farm on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Fischer Farm, 16W680 Old Grand Ave. in Bensenville.
“This year’s Harvest Fest promises to be a musical extravaganza like no other, featuring an eclectic mix of talent that will have everyone tapping their feet,” said Fischer Farm manager Christine Shiel. “And families with young children will definitely want to be there for Miss Jamie’s Farm, which starts at noon.”
Here’s a sneak peek at the stellar musical lineup:
• Miss Jamie’s Farm (Noon – 1 p.m.): Kickstarting the festivities, Miss Jamie’s Farm is a popular music show for young kids and their families, sharing values from life down on the farm through songs both new and familiar. Sing, dance, laugh and learn with Miss Jamie and her farm animal friends.
• Dan Asio (1-2, 4-5 p.m.): Dan Asio is a “friendly, neighborhood musician and songwriter” with influences from almost every genre across multiple generations of music. His songs can be described as a personal, contemplative commentary on life–a synthesis of many sounds and ideas, past and present, paired with the today’s world.
• Ryan Herrick Duo (2-4 p.m.): Ryan Herrick has sojourned guitar-in-hand from the mountains of Vermont to the foothills of Chicago’s skyscrapers and beyond. The guitar–his accomplice–served as the brush with which to paint his experiences as an inner journeyman; a wayward son who left home in search of himself.
• Alika Arlynn Band (5-7 p.m.): Alika Arlynn is a country rock singer influenced by her Midwestern roots and her love of rock n’ roll. The Illinois native sounds like Carrie Underwood, has a unique style like Sheryl Crow and is as sassy as Gretchen Wilson. Her singles, “My Devotion,” “Bows Before Bros,” and “Bring It” have earned airtime on Chicago’s Big 95.5 FM.
Shiel adds, “We’re excited to close out the day with the Alika Arlynn Band, which also played Country Thunder this year, so we hope that those of all ages will join us for this celebration of music, community, culture and life on the farm.”
Harvest Fest at Fischer Farm is not just about the music; visitors can also look forward to an array of delectable food, arts and crafts vendors, family-friendly activities and more.
Make plans for to join the family fun at Fischer Farm from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. The event is free and open to the public thanks to the generous support of Grand Subaru. For more information about Harvest Fest at Fischer Farm, visit BvilleParks.org/HarvestFest.
