Bengals select Tulane DE Cameron Sample with fourth round pick

The Cincinnati Bengals started their trip to the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft by making Cameron Sample the 111th pick.

Sample, a 6’3″, 267-pound pass rusher, projects as a quality end prospect who can kick inside to provide a pass rush from the middle on passing downs. He drummed up 10.5 sacks over four seasons at Tulane with 20.5 tackles for loss and seven passes defended.

This selection came after the Bengals addressed their three biggest needs — wideout, offensive line and edge — over the draft’s first three rounds. Sample is another attempt at dramatically improving the pass rush that was so lacking last year before losing Carl Lawson in free agency.
