Becky Hill slams body-shaming trolls who criticised her outfit at the Euros: ‘Cover up for no one’

Becky Hill has hit back at body-shaming trolls who came for her after her performance at the Euro 2022 final. The singer was criticised for wearing a sequin silver leotard to perform on the pitch ahead of the final, which saw the Lionesses historic 2-1 victory over Germany.
Yes, sadly but perhaps unsurprisingly, on a day which was supposed to be about celebrating women’s athleticism and championing equality in the sporting industry, some people were instead more focused on reducing a woman to her body parts.

Most of the sexualised comments have now been removed, with Becky responding to one tweet telling her “you don’t always have to dress up.”
She said: “women are ALWAYS expected to dress up. what was i supposed to do? go on in my trackies?”
Responding to another now-deleted tweet, in which the commenter seemingly apologised, Becky tweeted: “yep, very rude, but thanks for your apology. i’m also sorry you think that what i was wearing devalued my talent & wanted me to be more covered up to be a role model for body confidence to young women. as you can read, that is an oxymoron.”
