With the Bears’ season falling apart amid a four-game losing streak, their quarterback situation got even bleaker when Nick Foles was carted off the field in the final minute of their 19-13 loss Monday to the Vikings.
Foles was slammed to the ground by defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo on the Bears’ last possession and landed hard on his throwing shoulder. Trainers also were checking his knee as the Bears sent third-stringer Tyler Bray into the game.
The Bears didn’t specify Foles injury or the severity of it immediately afterward. Foles completed 15 of 26 passes for 106 yards with an interception for a passer rating of 51.1.
The Bears opened the season with Mitch Trubisky as their starter but turned to Foles in the second half of Week 3 against the Falcons, and he had been their starter since.
Trubisky was out Monday with a shoulder injury, though, leaving Bray as the only option when Foles was hurt. The Bears also have Kyle Sloter on their practice squad.
